We found this hidden lovely food place by the beginning of the Ella town (from the station road end). The owners were friendly and attentive.The place was really clean & gives a vibe of a small country side home.You can eat as much as you want for a very less amount. Food was warm and tasted like real home made food. Not too spicy as well. Fresh quality food.There were limited seating spaces.It was really worth having found this place for food.The food experience here was different than other usual restaurants in the area.If you want to experience a true Sri Lankan home made meal, visit this place.

Restaurante familiar de Kasun y Madu, en el que podrás degustar un excelente buffet libre de arroz con curry de verduras, y añadir además huevo, pollo o pescado.El trato es muy cercano y el ambiente tranquilo, con música y una atención constante por su parte.Además los precios son muy populares (440-640 rupias)Si quiere algo diferente sin renunciar a buena comida local, no dudes en visitarlos.Un 10 The Happy Couple!!

Just wow. We were confused as the place wasn’t very busy but learned it’s only just opened. This is the best and most authentic food experience we’ve had of Sri Lanka coming from two culinary obsessed people!The place is magical. A small arch leads you up a staircase chiseled into a grass bank. You’re then welcomed by an amazing little garden with a shack and the ‘Happy Couple’ - Kasun and Madu. You then take your shoes off and are shown into a beautiful room with amazing smells. The food is a buffet which is so unique. Small pots on a mantelpiece. The food is exceptional, the Dahl is some of the best I’ve ever had (I just recently spent a month in Pakistan too!).I could go on but do consider this place in comparison to the busier places down the road (which are good in their own right).

Authentic Sri Lanka Food, served in buffet style.We found this cute place by accident while walking thru the main strip in Ella. Food was delicious and the owners are so kind - definitely recommend :)

Very cute place to have some rice and curry. The prices are very cheap and the staff is friendly and welcoming. We came twice for vegetarian rice and curry buffet for 590 pp. They make different curries every day. We loved the first and also liked the second, but the first time was our favorite.Note: the place is about 50m up the road and on the other side of the road from where it says on Google Maps.

We came at 19:00, the buffet was cold and dry, not enough food. We had to ask them to fill the trailers again. At the beginning they did not agree to warm the food. Just after we’d ask again. I guess that if we would come in noon the food was better, but still the experience was not good and it wasn’t that late.
